Card Woven Straps

••• November 25th-27th •••

Belts, Hat Bands, Clothing Hems, Bag Handles, Dog Leashes & more!

Nearly unchanged in over 2,000 years, the practice of card weaving— also known as tablet weaving—has been used to make simple & ornate straps.

one of the most mobile & compact forms of making fabric—no loom or large space required—making it ideal for makers on the go!

Each participant will weave one strap. You'll be guided through pattern-making, choosing thread colors, measuring & cutting the warp & weft, preparing the shuttle, threading cards, & weaving the strap. Finishing touches will discussed & applied.

Rawhide Hock Pouches

December 2nd - 4th, 2022

Learn how to use an under-utilized part of the animal. Hocks are the lower limb & on deer & elk. They includes the dewclaws which are positioned on the back of the legs near the hooves. Using real &/or artificial sinew + a glover's needle, we'll soften the hair-on hocks enough to begin sewing. the option to incorporate straight-up rawhide, which is the hide of the animal that has been fleshed and scraped of hair, will also be available. We'll design a hip pouch, small shoulder bag, or knife sheath, sew & form it into shape!

Fleur + Forage for application details!

The Herb Cart was created in 2015 by Herbalista as a way to get herbal preparations in and around the Atlanta community.

It is a great set-up to fine tune your clinical skills. The Herb Cart has a specific set of remedies in stock, which trains you to be flexible and find new ways to use different herbal preparations. The Herb Cart was passed on to Fleur + Forage in the Spring of 2022. The first Fleur + Forage Herb Cart was set-up on March 31st, 2022 at Mercy Community Church.
